When Rudolph Giuliani’s administration cracked down on Times Square strip clubs in the 1990s, a whole new burlesque movement was born in New York, concentrating less on the strip and more on the tease. The young New York photographer Lisa Kereszi, then an assistant to Nan Goldin, was there with her camera to catch it all happening. She began by shooting Show World, a club that was in the process of being closed down by the new laws. In her flash, Kereszi caught abandoned lockers, dressing rooms filled with old shoes and costumes and the grimy elegance of the empty theater--which was never meant to be seen by the light of day. Simultaneously, she began to photograph the new burlesque scene--which went underground in the late 1990s and has since evolved into a conceptually sophisticated, funny and rebellious medium. More pinup than porn, in just a few years, the new burlesque is no longer invisible, and has been gleefully appropriated into mainstream culture by way of Hollywood and the print media. A graduate of Yale University’s MFA program, Kereszi’s editorial work has appeared in books and magazines, including The New York Times Magazine, Nest, Harper's, Wallpaper and GQ; she is represented by Yancey Richardson Gallery in New York.

Hello and sorry for the LONG overdue news.I have been doing a lot of performing and traveling out of town.
To very shortly recap on some of the events from the last two years:
2006:

NEWS FROM 2005
I Performed in France two more times,A week in Paris and another week in Nantes

October 2005 I quit performing with Lucha Va Voom

During January I was in Utah performing at the Sundance Film festival along side Augusta, Ursulina, Candy Whiplash,Dirty Martini and the Poubelle Twins as part of the DD Double feature premiere of Broad Daylight and Velvet Hammer The Movie. We spent an action packed week seeing movies and going to all of the fabulous parties that the festival had to offer. One of my favorites was the John Cameron Mitchell party full of friends from both LA and NY The last week of January I was in San Francisco Headlining at the glamorous Ruby Sky Lounge for Earth Circus productions. The first weekend of February I performed at the Blue Bongo in Los Angeles with Christopher Wounder, Danyell, Ms Santanica and Gypsy

February 12th I was wrestling and doing a Burlesque performance at the Sold Out Lucha Va Voom show at the Mayan Theater in LA. February 21st was the premiere of the Bollywood Follies at the key club where, Ursulina, Ming Dynatease, Cardnial Cyn, Karis, Desert Sin, Myself, and a cast of thousands performed with the Millionaire and his Bombay Rhythm Connection Band to a packed house.

On the 23rd of February I performed at Club Tangiers in Hollywood

On the 26th I was back in San Francisco performing my Fan dance at an Earth circus show case.

The first week of March I was in Nantes France performing at the I.D.E.A.L festival along with MiMi Le Meaux ,Kitty on the Keys, Dirty Martini and Kitty Diggins.

In the little time that we were in Nante we managed to be interviewed and had our photographs in three major news papers Le Monde, Liberation, and Presse Ocean. We were also interviewed for television and we were live on the radio. The Festival also used the Katharina Bosse photograph of me as the poster for the event. I had a great time and a special thanks goes out to the promoter Kitty and also to Luc,Richard,and Ganxtah for making our stay and the show run so smoothly. On Sunday I headed out for my first visit to Paris where I met up with Film Makers Jean Marc Barbieux and Christian Poveda. Who took turns taking me out and showing me a wonderful time around Paris. I was also privileged to get a sneak peek of their new documentary the "Velvet Strip "A 52 minunite film on Burlesque that features myself and the 2002/2003 cast of the Velvet Hammer. It will air on the ARTE Network this summer in Germany and France.When I returned from France I had a few days to get over my jet lag before I repacked and headed off to Austin Texas for another DD double feature premiere and show at The South By South West Film Festival with Penny Star Jr.,and Farhana,.We performed at the Elysium where I had the privilege of meeting film maker Jim Jarmush who paid me the most wonderful complement.
